Even though not all Americans are Christians and Thanksgiving can be celebrated by any religion or non religion, Christmas is still wildly more popular than Thanksgiving in the US. Thanksgiving happens to be my favorite holiday because it is not as commercial as Christmas or the other holidays and it is all about family. I come from a large family and we have wonderful Thanksgivings. Also, I love turkey and pecan pie and broccoli casserole and spinach dip and stuffing and bread rolls with real butter and on and on and on.
Have you ever celebrated Thanksgiving? I live abroad and I've missed many other holidays, but I've never let Thanksgiving go by without celebrating it with my friends. It is TOTALLY appropriate to the spirit of Thanksgiving to celebrate it with people who know nothing about the day. I love introducing my traditions to my new friends around the world.

All Americans can celebrate Thanksgiving rather than only the Christians and the merchants for Christmas.

Thanksgiving isn't a prayer day that replaced Christmas. Thanksgiving became into to rejoice survival in a clean place with, on the time, help from the natives. The colonists later went directly to occupy and bloodbath the typical public of the inhabitants. the trip is to rejoice that first area the place community human beings have been helping the colonists stay to tell the tale. This prayer stuff became into made as much as make thanksgiving a non secular trip in basic terms like Christmas became into made as much as convert pagans to Christianity. Kinda humorous how lies propagate themselves.

Because Thanksgiving is strictly an american holiday. Christmas is a religious holiday. Christmas has always been bigger in my family, because I was raised as a christian. If I had been raised another religion it propably would have been the other way around.

I think Thanksgiving extends to all Americans and Christmas (being the day Jesus was born) does not extend out to the other religious (or non religious) prts of our nation.

We are a proud Nation who loves our heritage. Not everyone may believe in Christ and celebrate his birthday, but one thing we can all agree on is that we are happy to be an American and will proudly celebrate it with the accompaniment of turkey, side dishes, desserts and family traditions all around us!

Thanksgiving is more popular, because more people celebrate it.

i can't say that americans celebrate turkey-day more than x-mas. but if it's true, then it's because thanksgiving is cheaper than x-mas since you only have to buy extra food instead of extra food and presents.

Americans celebrate Thanksgiving more because in Thanksgiving you give thanks to God,and in Christmas it's when Jesus was born.

thanksgiving is a way family's get together and give thanks as a family and of course the dinner table for eating. christmas family's are busy opening gifts trying them out and doing things individually not as a family.

I don't. I think both are important, and Christmas is a bigger celebration.

yea not all citizens are christians but most are... i think its because since no religous beliefs are tacked on to it, the media can make a bigger deal out of it without getting in trouble from other religions.
