Turkey, mashed potatoes (I've been adding garlic the past couple of years), sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce (not the stuff from the can!), pumpkin pie with lots of whipped cream, and whatever else we happen to decide to make.

My family has what I consider as "traditional fare" at Thanksgiving. Roast turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots, stuffing, celery stuffed with cream cheese, rutabagas, coleslaw, jellied cranberry sauce and an assortment of pies. Then we drink beer and watch the NFL!

Turkey, cornbread dressing, sweet potato casserole, mom's made from scratch cranberry sauce, sometimes turnip greens, and always pecan pie. We only have a pumpkin pie because my brother-in-law thinks it isn't Thanksgiving without one.

EVERY DAY IS A DAY OF THANKSGIVING, EACH DAY THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO HAVE FOOD IS A DAY TO GIVE THANKS. DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELF TO WAIT TILL A DATE IN NOVEMBER COMES UP, THAT WOULD BE HYPOCRISY. BUT RATHER ACKNOWLEDGE THE FACT THAT ONCE AGAIN GOD HAS PROVIDED FOOD, SHELTER, WATER, THE ACTIVITY OF YOUR LIMBS ETC, AND FOR THIS REASON ALONE WE ARE TO BE GRATFUL, AND THANKFUL FOR WE HAVE BEEN RICHLY BLESSED. LET THANKSGIVING BE A STATE OF MIND, RATHER THAN SPECIFIC FOOD ITEMS THAT ARE EATEN. GIVE THANKS DAILY.... SO THAT GOD CAN CONTINUE TO BLESS. PEACE.
